Silent Witness

Lyrics

There’s a silent place near Gander town,
Where that big Arrow plane went down;
There by the way a statue stands,
With a boy and girl holding hands.

The whispering wind blows among the trees,
It’s playing now sad melodies;
It seems to know the reason why,
Why those brave young soldiers died.

The soldier stands so brave and tall,
He seems to hear the bugle’s call;
He seems to know he’s not alone,
As he gazes the way to home.

The whispering wind blows among the trees,
It’s playing now sad melodies;
It seems to know the reason why,
Why those brave young soldiers died.

Somewhere above where eagles soar,
The silent witness will be no more.
